AirTags (smart Bluetooth trackers) depend on the large number of iPhones nearby because they lack a built-in GPS receiver and mobile network connection, unlike dedicated dog trackers. They communicate with any iPhone within about 10 metres, which then sends the phone’s location to you. This allows you to see roughly where your AirTag is based on the passing iPhone’s location. The ring feature helps locate pets hiding nearby. With an IP67 waterproof rating, it can handle rain and splashes. I’m a dog boarder so have lots of different dogs. Because of their shape they fit really well particularly dogs with deep chest, Lurcher, greyhound etc. Look really smart as well.
